Family Background

I was born in the North Kivu province. I am the youngest in my family. My dad left our family before I was born. Other family members helped to raise us. We were displaced by the war but returned to Nyankunde. Here my mom became a Christian and led us to Christ.

What was required of you to complete your degree?

I had to complete and defend my thesis. My thesis was forty five pages on how to take care of HIV patients in the hospital. God really helped me through my academics. I am so thankful to be able to complete my degree and graduate.

What is a challenge that you are facing?

I have had problems with my eyes since I was young and the problem flares up sometimes. This has made completing my degree difficult. It took me one extra year but I was able to graduate.

What do you want to do now that you have graduated?

I want to return to Nyankunde and help others by being a nurse in the hospital. I will begin an internship in the hospital and then depending on my performance they may hire me.

They have helped me to get where I am today. Because of their generosity I am able to be a valuable person in society who can help my community.
