Family Background
I was born into a Christian family. My father studied in Nyankunde as well and is the director of a school near Nyankunde. He is also an elder in the church in Nyankunde. I received Christ through Sunday school as a child. I got involved in soccer and that conflicted with choir and church. My parents encouraged me to think about which one I want to be my priority. After thinking about it, I decided to focus on serving God.
What did you do after graduating from secondary school and before starting at the university?
After graduating from secondary school I worked at the Christian radio station in Nyankunde. I also worked as a micro-biology teacher in a secondary school in a neighboring town. In addition, I led a choir that sang at the church and at the youth ministry.
How will your education allow you to help the people of Nyankunde?
I would like to make the first map of Nyankunde. I also hope to work in the rehabilitating of buildings in Nyankunde. I plan to work with the youth as well. I have received a lot for free and want to give back to others. I want to use my gift of singing to lead others in worship of God. I would like to be able to work and support another student to give back from what I have given.
How has Congo Impact helped you?
Congo Impact has been a huge help. Even though my father is a school director he still makes a small amount and cannot afford to send me to school. I am one of seven children. Usually you can only have one child study at a time. I would have to wait for my brother to finish to go to school but now we were able to study at the same time.
