Family Background

I am one of five children. One died before I came. I am the youngest. My father was a military man. He died before I really knew him. My mom brought us to Nyankunde. My oldest brother had a difficult time with our father’s death. He left and joined the military. During the war in Nyankunde he was taken by the militia and we have not heard from him since. My sister lives in Bunia and my other brother is here in Nyankunde but struggles with alcoholism.

How have you been growing in your faith?

I have been growing spiritually by God’s grace. I am the secretary of the youth group and a mentor of the Sunday school children. I am leading a choir as well. There is also a chaplain at my university that holds events that I attend. In addition, we go out to other places and preach and share music.

How will your education allow you to help others?

I am not exactly sure where God will take me after graduation but there are a lot of people suffering. Many people need medical help. In my mind I know I just want to help, especially children and elderly because they are weak and need extra help.

What is God doing in your life?

I thank God because He is my Father. I am an orphan but my Heavenly Father has taken care of me. He has used Congo Impact to help me.

What do you want to say to your sponsor?

I cannot express how thankful I am. I have them in my heart. I keep the picture of their family on my computer to remind me of them and their love towards me. I know it’s not just David but his whole family.
