Family Background

I grew up in Kinshasa. I never knew my father. My mother, my sister, and I have become Christians. My mother does not have a lot of money to take care of us and she is sick with cancer. She lives in Butembo with my sister. I pray for her often.

What have you been doing since graduating from UCBC?

Since I graduated I have been helping people in Nyankunde. I volunteer at the Christian radio. I help with the youth group. I have opened a small center to help the people of Nyankunde with computers. I am working with the new students in the Congo Impact program so that they know how to use their computer when they go to the university.

What is the biggest challenge you face?

I don't have a job. I tried to go to other towns and write letters to see if I can find a job, but so far I have been unsuccessful. I really want to help people. Before I went to school I was helping orphans. I still want to help but I need a job to have money to help them. I would love to be able to make it possible for them to go to school.

How has Congo Impact helped you?

Congo Impact has done something for me that my mom could not do for me. I started the university on my own but it was impossible to continue without money. As a result of Congo Impact, I was able to continue in school and learn many things.
